Artificial Lighting

This is a photograph by Gregory Crewdson, the compositions are always set up including the use of models, vehicles and lighting etc. It is the use of artificial lighting in a seemingly natural environment. The idea of total control even down to the set up of a perceived normal and natural environment is fairly disturbing. This could be linked to what NOVUS land would feel like. Not a world like the one within 1984 but a controlled environment to suite every ones need.

Black/White or Light/Dark

Black and white is a harsh combination, and carries strong, maybe negative, connotations, which may not be appropriate if our video is meant to be more suggestive than literal.
If we have a totally blacked out room, the animations will work well projected, as the white lines will just be projected as light, which is less harsh... Like in this video...

A more humane video?

Not saying that this type of presentation of a person is the correct way for our video as it may look like a tad 80's, however in the last final days is it worth adding human voices or some visual representation.

 

Tension and Lines

I like the idea of tension coming together at the corner of these shapes, due to the lines coming closer together. Just thinking that it might be a thought provoking image for the flash video. Movement of the shape... 

copycat capitalism

i was thinking about some more internal branding and knocked these up as a bit of a joke but it kind of shows a point what if you lived in a country where one company owns everything.....

GRID

It may be a little late on, but a grid could still be used as a ratio to design things around... It slightly off square, like the logo. So it looks almost perfect, but not quite... hmmm... 200x208

Come Together White Light

The idea of primary colors, mixing and creating white light. Very simple and needs development but keeping the concept of presenting the city or country through the eyes of light and air. 

Final Catalog?

For a final piece I would quite like to develop on a final catalog with all our work involved, ranging with all the aspects of Novus presented as if in a welcome package. Posters from screen printing and paragraphs explaining our country. Still only giving suggestions though.

Light and Air applied to Novus

Here are just a few of the photo's I took where I just simply used an overhead projector with acetate to project the image. Would like to develop into projecting onto a building or the public.

Land Area and Orientation poster

This is an idea for the area orientation using Din our in house typeface. I wanted to show it typographically because it is more of an idea of where it could be rather than graphically representing it. The land area is Hungary but it isnt representative of Hungary at all. If you plot this area taking the coordinates as the centre it spans across Ukraine and into Russia.
